Sweet Charity
Albert Uster Chef of the Year Award

Albert Uster, founder of Albert Uster Imports, died tragically as a result of an accident late last year.  He left behind a remarkable legacy forged over fifty years in the industry he loved – first, as an Executive Chef, then as an entrepreneur and businessman, and always as a teacher, mentor, and philanthropist.

The Heart of America Foundation and Albert Uster Imports, co-hosts of Sweet Charity, established an award in Albert Uster’s honor recognizing extraordinary individuals who share his passion for the culinary arts, community, and service.

Chefs receiving this award can be nominated by peers, staff, family, and other community members - for excellence as leaders in their restaurant/property and their community.

The individual chosen as the Albert Uster Chef of the Year will be recognized at the eighth Sweet Charity event on Monday, May 11, 2009, and will be presented with an award and the opportunity to donate 1,000 brand new, age-appropriate books to a local elementary school in the honoree’s name.
